Had primary rhinoplasty 16 years ago, the tip remained high so I the tip lowered and possible of repair uneven nostrils. I am 16 days p/o.The tip is lowering, the nostrils are still uneven & today, a small clot came out.I noticed a whistle & weird air feeling. I went to the plastic surgeon and sure enough I have a small hole in my septum. He told me things where still healing and to apply neosporin and it should heal on it's own? Is this true, he is well respected with 30 years exp. Help!
It is unlikely that the hole in your septum will heal. However, it may not cause you any issues. If the hole, if far enough back in the nose it may not cause any symptoms.
Many have said if your wanting to have rhinoplasty its best to look for someone who specializes in it ... My problem is actually FINDING someone. Ive looked through tons of doctors already and finding someone who specializes in rhinoplasty is like finding a needle in a hay stack as they say! Any recommendations on a specific doctor(s) or ways to find someone would really be appreciated!
Unfortunately, this is not as easy as it should be. Many websites suggest expertise in everything which is not possible. I would look for websites that have more content devoted to nasal surgery as a starting point. I would look for a minimum of at least 5 pictures of rhinoplasty on their website. I would seek surgeons that have combined training in ear, nose, and throat with either plastic surgery or facial plastic surgery training.
