I am able to hold off on a facelift until next year. I am keeping things at bay with Dysport and Restylane I do though have a neck problem with soft beginning of a sagging there. Uneveness from lipo 10 years ago. Which comes first for best results? The face and than the neck? I feel like the horse or the cart asking this, but I think maybe a future facelift will affect the lay of the face. Thanks
Routinely, we perform face and neck lift as one procedure. It will provide the best improvement with a balanced result! If you would be my relative I would advice against doing a necklift now and plan for the facelift next year.
I dont need a facelift but I have a small amount of loose skin under my chin and 2 folds on my neck. I don't want or need a neck lift as its only loose skin nor do I need lipo as its not fat. As its minimal I would like a local anaesthetic, why do doctors not want to do these minimal corrections? when sometimes these small defects affect peoples self confidence like big problems? I am sick of wearing scarves because I hate my neck folds.
First, your cosmetic surgeon should evaluate to your particular aging pattern and anatomy. And of course, it is important to understand your goals such as acceptance of surgery, recovery and your desired longevity of the improvements.
Options range from non-surgical treatments such as Ultherapy to a comprehensive neck lift. And then there are a variety of surgical modifications possible. Consult with an experienced face and neck lift surgeon (or two) and have him/her outline your options. It is impossible to suggest the right approach from the distance.
Is the "chin incision" neck lift technique the best choice for sagging skin on my neck?
I consider this incision a necessity in order to achieve an excellent necklift result. The incision usually measures 3-4cm and is placed in a naturally occuring crease. This access allows me to thoroughly sculpt the neck fat beyond what simple liposuction can do. In addition and equally important, the neck muscles are tightened in the midline.
This incision can be avoided if there is only minimal neck laxity - a rare scenario in our practice.
