On a Facelift, How Does the Skin Reattach to the Tissues when It's Redraped?

I am worried about how the skin can be pulled up in a facelift (back to the cheek area), and then after the underlying work, it is redraped and tightened, so how does the skin "reattach", and what is the protection for not taking too much skin so the mouth doesn't close, etc.

A: Skin Healing after Facelift

This is exactly where much of the healing takes place. If the skin would not heal down afterwards, a facelift procedure would not be possible.

In my opinion, the skin should not be tightened but rather allow to redrape without tension. Tight skin after a facelift adds only an unnatural appearance and poor scar healing.

Is It Safe for a Woman with Rosacea to Have a Face and Necklift?

Rosacea is under control, but I have thin skin. Thank you

A: Rosacea and facelift There should be no issue undergoing facelift surgery with "normal" rosacea - a very common skin disorder. Out-of-control inflammation should be treated first though. I have noted some additional oozing during the surgery. Interestingly, bruising and recovery after surgery is usually not increased.

If You Have a Malignant Tumor on the Tail of Pancreas Should You Get a 6 Hour Face Lift

My friend has a 10cm maligant tumor on tail of pancreas. He is having a 6 hour face lift soon. He was not honest with the plastic surgeon and did not tell him about his cancer. What are his risks. Thank you

A: Malignant Pancreas Tumor and Planned Facelift

You are a good and insightful friend to ask this question! I would not perform a facelift in this situation - t does not matter if the surgery takes 2 or 6 hours. Your friend is at a significant risk for complications during surgery or in the recovery phase.

First things first: The cancer should be successfully treated before cosmetic facial surgery!
