Post-Pregnancy Procedures
Pregnancy changes a woman’s body completely. Her abdominal muscles and skin stretch, she gains weight, and her breasts increase in size. The mommy makeover is a combination of two or more body contouring procedures designed to help women get back to their pre-pregnancy form. At my Boston practice, I tailor each mommy makeover to meet the unique needs of the individual patient. Many patients opt to have a tummy tuck to tighten abdominal muscles, remove excess skin, and contour the abdomen; liposuction to remove stubborn excess body fat; and breast augmentation (with or without a breast lift) to restore volume that is often lost during breastfeeding. Women who find that their breasts feel heavy and uncomfortable after pregnancy may opt for breast reduction surgery. For those who want to improve the appearance of their limbs, I offer arm and leg lifts. Breast Surgery
One of the most popular plastic surgery procedures, breast augmentation increases the size of the breasts, improves body proportion, and corrects asymmetries. Breast implants add volume, but implants alone won’t lift sagging breasts, which is why some women combine an augmentation with a breast lift. I have years of experience performing breast augmentation surgery and will help you decide on the best breast implants for you. At my Boston practice, gummy bear implants are by far the most commonly used implant type. Not only do they look and feel very similar to breast tissue, they have a layered silicone shell that is stronger than that of traditional silicone implants. They’re also filled with a thicker gel, which makes them less likely to ripple or change over time, compared to other types of breast implant.
