Would I Be a Good Candidate for a Mini Tummy Tuck?

I have had my children at the young age of 17 and the age of 20.I have stretch marks on my stomach but after losing weight I feel like stomach is begining to look worse.Im in good physical shape and have good muscle definition in upper abdomen but the lower abdomen never tightens up. In fact the skin there looks more wrinkly.Im not looking to get rid of ALL stretch marks, as there are some above my belly button but think if they could just be smoothed out, I'd be happy.I dont want wrinkly belly.

A: Mini vs Full TT, what is best?

To give you the best answer, a photo would have been very helpful.  That said, in general, a mini TT is a very limited procedure and works best in only a select group of patients and give only a limited result of the lower abdomen.  For patients with muscle separation or loose skin above the belly button a full TT is the best option to achieve the best result.  Check with a board certified plastic surgeon to see what would be best for you.

Am I a Candidate for Mini Tuck Plus Lipo? (photo)

According to one of the surgeon's I consulted, my c-section scar may be too low to remove if he does a full tummy tuck. He can remove the c-section scar if he does a mini-tuck. My only concern is, with a mini-tuck and lipo, what are the chances I my skin will wrinkle above the navel. I am 50 years old. Thanks!

A: Mini Tummy Tuck vs Full Tummy tuck

A Mini Tummy Tuck will essentially remove some skin and fatty tissue below the belly button.  Any improvement will be limited to below the belly button. IT can be combined with liposuction, however , if there is any stretched out skin above the belly button, liposuction will not help.  A full Tummy Tuck will also provide improvement above the umbilicus by tightening the underlying muscles and by removal of more lax skin and fatty tissue.  You should carefully discuss these options with your surgeon as it is not possible to make a specific recommendation based on your photos and without an adequate examination.
