“Two Years of Invisalign and Now I...”
I was excited when I started this process two years ago. I was 60 years old and should have had braces as a kid, but didn't. Six months in it was clear I needed a refinement - two front teeth had the braces slipping off the attachments. A year later and braces will be needed afterwards because they could never get those attachments to secure to the teeth. Sigh :-( BTW -- they don't tell... more
“Closing the PuertoRican Madonna Gap...”
So, i'm new in this forum, but checked it out before going for Invisalign. I always wanted to close my gaps. But couldn't afford them when I was young and was advised to wait after my wisdom grew etc. (I had them pulled out anyways) Now I'm 24, saw a LivingSocial ad for Invisalign for $2,700. Couldn't pass up the deal so I bought that coupon. I got my impressions done after last Christmas and... more
“Kind of Sketchy - Massachusetts, MA”
Only on my first set and they filed probably 4 teeth and say I have to have many more filed... This wasn't mentioned Til my aligners came in and I am very nervous it won't work because I got it off groupon so I wonder if my dentist is inexperienced. They also failed to include that they were going to put connectors on my teeth which help the trays stay on your teeth, biggest pains ever.... more
“Totally Worth It!!! - Middleton, MA”
I began invisalign when I was 25. I had always had very crowded teeth, an overbite, and my top teeth were very narrow (kind of "buck" teeth--I hate that term though!) It was something that always bothered me. I couldn't afford braces when younger, and didn't want "adult braces". So I gave invisalign a whirl. I am presently on tray 28 of 30 trays. My teeth are... more
“Invisalign ROCKED, People Are Overly...”
I had invisalign for a little over a year to correct an open bite and spacing. They're obviously not INVISIBLE but they are much better than braces. I could take them out for important pictures and I could eat whatever I wanted to. I don't understand these claims of the attachments "scratching" peoples mouths. These attachments are tooth colored and cemented onto your teeth... more
“I love it!!!!!! - Massachusetts”
PROS: -i can eat whatever i want -i can clean my mouth thoroughly -i can take em off and admire how great they make my smile :D -i did it because i have(about to be had) snaggle tooth on top, and my bottom teeth were crowded & my mom wanted me to be the guinea pig. -you have a ballpark of how long you'll need to wear them before your smile is better. CONS: -i wish i could... more
“So Far So Good - Massachusetts”
It has been 10 days since I started the invisalign treatment and I'm getting used to the whole regimen. The first night I had dinner out with friends and it was a little awkward going to the bathroom before food arrived to take out the aligners but I did drink a glass of wine and had water while they were in. I am a big coffee drinker so I also drink warm (not hot) coffee or iced... more
“Waiting Patiently - Boston, MA”
The price includes a full teeth cleaning and whitening I decided to get before invisalign and one cavity procedure. I just got my dental impressions, x-rays and photographs taken this week. Paid in full and now I need to wait 6 weeks! I am 35 years old and I would like to improve my smile.... let's see how it goes! Finally got my Invisalign today, after a long 45 minutes wait... more
“7 1/2 Months to Go... - Massachusetts”
Just got my Invisalign braces yesterday. I will admit right up front, I'm a bit skeptical looking at some of the 'moviestar' after pictures of 'normal people' but am going hopeful. I had braces as a teen and as I get older, there's overcrowding. Today is the second day. It's not as bad as I thought but there is discomfort. I could see how people would just keep... more
Well let me first start by saying I'm a big baby when it comes to the dentist. I stress and groan every visit. I'm 47 and have had messed up teeth my whole life. My wife jokes and calls me Mr. Ed. My dentist for years has talked about invisaline to cure an overbite and crowded teeth. Well last year I decided enough was enough. I needed my four wisdom teeth removed and survived that... more
“Invisalign W/buttons to Correct...”
Pros - Buttons are only visible within a foot of my mouth and invisalign is completely invisible. Cons - I'm a snacker so the obvious con is that every snack costs me 10 minutes of my day b/c I have to stop to take out the aligners and then stop to brush/floss/mouthwash and put them back in. I may loose weight though =). I have a tooth that tilts inward causing all of my pictures to look... more
“Very Happy with Invisalign...”
I got Invisalign in 2001, and I continue to be really happy with the results. The treatment portion took a little over a year, and I've been wearing the last retainer at night since then. Don't stop wearing your nightly retainers. My Dr. in Cambridge MA was a great guy. I wish I had before pictures, but I was always hiding my teeth. Maybe I can get them from my ortho to post. more
My doctor said it was going to take nine months. After the first two months, I had to redo the mouth mold and send it off to Invisalign because my teeth weren't moving. Invisalign had screwed up on the first set so they had to reconfigure and I had to start over. So that added on another two months and my total treatment was almost one year and six months in the end. I wasn't completely... more
I was in the invisalign for one year+ as I did not want traditional metal braces (had braces as teen, did not wear retainer, so teeth starting to go back to original position). I too was not told about the "buttons" but I only had three attached and they were on side teeth (can't imagine having many more) - yes, buttons somewhat annoying but only marginally visable. I think... more
