Background information: So for quite some time I had been contemplating getting work done on my nose. After perusing through the vast amounts of information regarding Rhinoplasty on the net, it became clear to me that such an intrusive/costly surgery (not to mention the revision rate!) was not an option. And so the quest to find a feasible alternative began! As a black female, it was... more
I developed a horrible infection after receiving Radiesse in my nasolabial folds. I received Radiesse in September and 5 months later I still have a rash on one side that won't go away no matter what the dermatologists give me. I had to be on an antiviral medication for a month after the Radiesse because of the viral infection that took over the left side of my face. What a horrible... more
I had marionette lines and indentation from cystic acne. Dr Brooks did a good job injecting me with Radiesse, the only problem is it didn't last very long for me. 2 months- if that..Other than that, he was very understanding, accommodating. Just wish the Radiesse would've lasted as long as he predicted. Oh well. I would love for him to offer Silikon 1000! Until then, I will be... more
Used it for nasolabial folds. They were completely gone after treatment and now, over 10 months later, I still see an about 75% improvement. I did not have any bruising even though I usually bruise very easily. The rather minor swelling was gone within two days. I have read in numerous articles & magazines that Radiesse should not be used anywhere else in sensitive areas, such as lips... more
I had Radiesse injected 11 months ago to augment my nose bridge and was thinking about getting it done again this month since most of it has dissipated. However, I heard horror stories about granulomas that can develop after a few years. I'm assuming this is true for the earlier fillers or is this also true for Radiesse? A cosmetic surgeon told more
You're doing the right thing in researching the options. Unlike other reviews my dermatologist used 2 syringes and she placed the product not only in the folds but above & around to "lift" the skin. My face, from the eyes down was topically anesthetized so I had no pain, just little pricks. It took a little over 2 hours including the time to become numb. I am just under 50... more
I loved the results in my hollow cheeks, but unfortunately it lasted only 2 months. I paid $800 for 1 syringe of Radiesse. I think $800 for only 2 months is NOT worth it. I need to find another alternative. Sculptra did not work for me either, and had 3 treatments of Sculptra, and Restylane only lasts about 2 months in me as well. more
I completely agree with marijowin's comments and experience regarding Radiesse. Having had positive experiences with Collagen injections and with both Restlyn and Juvederm, and my only complaint being their lack of longevity, I thought that I would give Radiesse a try for their long term benefits for my marionette lines. What a nightmare! I ended up with a most swollen and awful face in the... more
