i'm planning to get a hair removal on bikini area but i have heared that using laser on those area would cause a sense of frustration from their inability to feel sensation, pleasure, or sexual pleasure from vaginal-penile intercourse
Thanks for your inquiry.Hair follicles live in a relatively superficial layer of the skin. This is what allows laser or pulsed light to destroy the hair follicles. Treatment by these modalities can lead to some superficial inflammation or numbness which is generally short lived. The nerves that lead to orgasm during sexual intercores are deeper and generally in areas that should not be treated. Be sure you perform your treatment with an experienced physician to determine if you are a good candidate and avoid risks such as burns and blisters.
The clinics near me offer a number of different laser machines. names like Light Sheer, IPL, Yag, Duet, Cool Glide. What do the medical expert here think works best in laser hair removal? --Julie
The best lasers for laser hair removal are the Alexandrite and Yag lasers. The absorption of light by melanin (which is the pigment found in hair) is closest to the wavelength of the Alexandrite laser. This laser is by far the best for people with fair skin. The NdYag laser is better for darker skin individuals and is also the deepest penetrating laser.
The Diode laser doesn't penetrate deep enough to kill all of the hair follicles and may just damage them causing them to fall out, but they will probably grow back again. That's why some docs who have the Doide tell patients that they need to come back for treatments a couple times per year as well as why you may hear some patients say that laser hair removal doesn't work. Diodes don't penetrate deep enough to kill the hair.
I get a lot of razor bumps on my legs and so I want to try laser hair removal to see if that will fix my problem. I know it won't be cheap, but what is the cost of laser hair removal? Is there any way to tell how many laser hair treatments I will probably need before commiting to several treatments up front?
We price Laser Hair Removal by the area. The uncertain thing is how many treatments you will need. Therefore, I usually recommend only paying for the treatments you need, not "package pricing."
The number needed can vary from person to person for the same area. The number can also vary from body part to body part within the same person. I have seen some patients be hair free in as few as 3 treatments and some who have taken over 10 treatments.
