Fraxel Repair or Lift for the Whole Face and Neck?

I had an endoscopic brow lift in 2004. It still looks great. However, my mouth wrinkles are bad and neck needs a little help! I have some sun damage all over. I'm confused about going with Fraxel Repair for the whole face and neck or some type of lift. Please help. I am 56 years old.

A: Fraxel laser or face lift and neck lift

Although you appear to have some laxity of your skin in the jowls and neck which can be addressed with the use of a fractional CO2 laser, the issues that seem most prominent are the platysmal bands in your neck and the excess skin in your neck. I think you would obtain only slight tightening of the skin and no real improvement in the banding in your neck or much elevation of your jowl skin. If your mouth is a major concern, then the Fraxel laser works best.

Did I Have Fraxel Repair?

I had what I think is Fraxel Repair, as it is supposed to be one treatment. It left patterns during the healing like shredded wheat. I am just concerned when I see people talk about 4 passes. They said it was the newest one on the market and it was a one treatment Fraxel. They also said Fraxel CO2. I also only had numbing cream, which for me was fine. I have to say even though I only had it 48 hours ago I can already see dramatic improvement in skin. Does this seem like Fraxel Repair?

A: Early healing after Fraxel re:pair

Fraxel Re:pair, in the early stages (first 2 days) has some pinpoint bleeding and swelling. This subsides fairly quickly within 4 to 5 days, allowing patients to wear makeup. The results are phenomenal, ridding of wrinkles and pigmentation issues. The treatments can vary in intensity delivered, and not everyone needs the same settings. This is why some patients can be treated using topicals only for pain control and others may need local anesthetics injections in addition to the topical.

Fraxel Re:pair is typically a one session treatment, unlike Restore which requires 4 to 5 treatments. It might be best to ask your doctor which laser you were treated with for your own future reference.
