Endo Browlift- Sharp Burning/tearing Sensations Near Incisions

Hello, I am 4 weeks post an endoscopic forehead lift. During the 4 weeks I occasionally feel a sharp burning or tearing sensation near 2 of the incisions. Lately it has been more frequent and especially if I try to make any movements that normally would wrinkle my forehead (ie sneezing). My brows/lids are lower than after surgery but still a bit higher. Could sensations be endotine failure as tissue is pulling away? Is it normal for brows to have already dropped? I'm 32 y.o

A: Burning or Nerve Sensations after Endoscopic Brow Lift with Endotine

Hi nycgirl78,

One month after surgery is still relatively early after plastic surgery, as healing is still occurring. Burning and nerve sensations can occur with any brow lift procedure, including Endoscopic Brow Lift with Endotine implants. These sensation generally resolve with time. Sometimes an antihistamine tablet may relieve some scalp sensations. Alternatively, some patients benefit from local anesthesia injections to help reduce nerve pain or discomfort.

Lastly, all brow lifts may settle downward a bit after the initial surgery, which is expected. Any potential "slip" of the implant is unlikely at one month after surgery. Speak to your plastic surgeon now to evaluate you and help determine appropriate options. Best of luck.

Forehead Lift to Help Reduce or Eliminate Migraines?

I've heard of Botox being able to help Migraines and then this morning I heard that people who have had a Forehead Lift surgery have also reported less migraines. Have any of the doctors on this site received the same feedback from their Forehead Lift patients? Is it true?

A: Botox/Face Lift relieving Migraines

In studies Botox has been shown to help migraines.  Brow lifts may also help in some cases for tension headaches.

Migraines can be caused by several different things, so there is no gaurantee.

If migraines are your primary problem I would advise seeing a neurologist about possible treatments.  If you are looking to get a brow lift or Botox and are hoping that it could also relieve you of migranes, I advise seeing a plastic surgeon.

Will Scar from Subcutaneous Forehead Scar Be Noticeable?

I am going to undergo a subcutaneous forehead lift as I do not want my hairline to go backwards. Will the scar be noticeable or not?

A: done properly, this scar is not noticeable in a woman

Done properly, this scar will not be noticeable, unless there is male pattern baldness afterwards.  Sometimes, when people emerge from a swimming pool, the hair can part in an unnatural way at the old scars.  If oriented the correct way, even this can be minimized.
