after 2 month i still have dimples due to subcutan sutur contraction. can i make the healing process quicker? is there a method to help to dissolve them. they are very annoying....as they are 3 D, they are difficult to hide with make up....i know it's difficult to make "distant doctoring" but how long must i suffer whith them....thank you for your answers, i appreciate the precious time you attend
Sutures or stitches with a facelift are both on the outside and under the skin. The deep stitches may either be permanent or dissolvable. Permanent stitches will never go away. Stitches that dissolve typically take several months to slowly go away. Gentle massage help soften some skin contraction, dimpling, pinching, or puckering.
However, you should speak with your facelift plastic surgeon. Only after a comprehensive evaluation can he/she help determine appropriate options for you. Best of luck.

I have noticed nasolabial folds since I was 32 and it is worse on the left side of my face. Since then, I had 2 vials of juvederm ultra injected into my cheekbones and the left nasolabial fold and now, 6 months later, it is already bothering me again. Even right after the procedure, it did not see to do that much. I would like something more permanent and something that would show more improvement, but have been told to wait till I'm older by 2 surgeons. Would a cheek lift solve my problem?
Hi coffeeluver,
Thank you for your question and photo. Based on the information provided, I agree with the other plastic surgeons and specialists. First, everyone has nasolabial folds, even the children. However, the nasolabial folds may deepen and change with age. Generally, the best treatments for smile lines are office injections with a facial fillers. Many options are available such as Restylane, Juvederm, Sculptra, or Radiesse to name some. Another option to consider at this time is fat injections. Fat has the potential for permanent results that other fillers cannot offer.
Surgery with a cheek lift or face lift may be more appropriate once your a bit older, but not at this time. Only after a comprehensive evaluation can a specialist help determine appropriate options for you. Best of luck.

I had a facelift in April, and looked great for several months, but now I see that the right side of my face looks old again -- it has more sag that the left, which is fuller. It is barely noticeable, but it is to me! I have a dimple on that side that was black and blue forever. Can this be tweaked at all? I find myself pulling my face up a tiny bit up by the cheekbone area toward the hairline, and that fixes it. also seem to have bags under eyes not present before, near top of cheek bone.
Hi Susie,
Yes, facelift surgery is typically tailored to the needs of each patient. A various amount of tightening or skin/tissue modification is performed, which is different for each patient, and possibly each side. Keep in mind that everyone's face is asymmetric to a certain degree, which is normal. Slight asymmetries after surgery typically resolve with time, largely due to swelling.
Revision face lift surgery is generally not considered for at least several months, if not one year, after the originally surgery. If you haven't already, speak with your plastic surgeon. Only after a comprehensive evaluation can he/she help determine appropriate options for you. Best of luck.
