Male Double Chin Removal

I am a 37old male, great health. Just lost 110lbs and working on my last 40-50 lbs. While I know once the weight is gone I need a major tummy tuck, the area that is bothering me the most is my double chin. Its fairly large, and wanted to know if it can be removed via Laserlipo (smart lipo), Vaser, or anything less invasive than a full neck lift which will leave scars and has major downtime. Please help!! I live in Metro NYC.

A: you will likely like the results of laser liposuction, but expect some skin laxity

based on your picture, it appears that you have significant fat that would be amenable to removal via laser liposuction.  I treat many patients with laser liposuction, and as long as you understand the limitations and the other options available to you such as neck lifts, you'll be able to make a good decision.  with laser liposuction, your profile will be enhanced.  for maximal skin tightness, you may want to consider an open procedure such as a neck lift.

Will Chin Liposuction Result in Loose Skin?

I am a 24 year old who wants to do Chin Liposuction and I am wondering if this will result in loose sagging skin. I have been working out for two years now reduced my sodium intake and drink plenty of water. I have been unable to get rid of my double chin but I do not want to do if it will result in saggy skin.

A: Laser Lipo may be better than traditional lipo for skin tightening

In a young person, the skin is elastic enough to shrink back after lipo of the chin, and it is a very nice option for individuals into their late 40's and early 50's.  Typically, after that, they need a more invasive surgical lift to tighten the skin.

A strategy that has worked in my hands is to use laser lipo to remove the fat, and allow the laser to have the best chance at skin tightening.  In addition, after that, we can some fractionated laser treatments (Fraxel) on the outside of the skin to further enhance/encourage tightening of the skin.
