How Much Does a Thigh Lift Cost?

How much does a thigh lift cost? For the average person, is the price of a thigh lift difficult to pay out of pocket?

A: Thigh lift price depends on type of lift

The cost of a medial thigh will really depend on whether the lift involves just a horizontal excision to correct the very upper inner thigh or a horizontal and vertical incision to correct laxity of the middle and lower inner thighs. Depending on the type of procedure, typical inner thigh lift costs, including anesthesia and the facility fee range from $7000-10500 in my practice. Hope that helps. Best of luck.

Bad Thigh Lift Results. Are Revisions Ever Done for Unhappy Patients?

I am very unhappy with my thigh lift and feel that the improvement is good but the results are not acceptable. I still feel that I need to cover up and not wear shorts. Also my tummy tuck left me with very large and noticeable dog-ears. I have spoken with my surgeon and it will cost me more money for the improvements. What about revisions? Don't surgeons do that for their patients?

A: Revision surgery, who pays for it

I am sorry to hear that you are not happy with your results. It is not uncommon that a small revision is required on patients that require significant body contouring. Each physician has there own policy. In my practice I tell patients that if the revision is reasonable, that I have no problem doing it without a surgeons's fee if it is in the first year. I often can do revision, including dog ears, in the office under local anesthesia. Since this is done in the office there is no cost to the patient. Some revisions are more extensive and require going to the operating room. For these cases I personally do not charge them, but there will be a facility and anesthesia fee that they will be required to pay.

Mini Thigh Lift

I had liposuction 6 months ago on my saddlebag areas. Unfortunately, the areas are a bit lumpy now after healing. I was told I could have a touch-up lipo procedure to help smooth the areas, but I don't have a lot of confidence that this will be a great solution.

I am wondering about the possibility of a mini outer thigh lift. If I gently pull up on each outer thigh from my waist area, it does seem to appear much smoother. It does not require much pulling up to get this result, but I wondered how extensive the thigh lift surgery would have to be.

Can a mini thigh lift be done with a smaller incision? What is the simplest, smallest procedure that could give these results? Is it absolutely necessary to separate all the layers of muscle, fascia, etc from the skin, and if so, how far down the leg must this extend? I would appreciate any info on this, as there is not a lot of information on outer thigh procedures, particularly mini lifts. Thank you.

A: Outer thigh lift versus fat injections

Without examining you this is a tough question to answer. If the lateral thigh skin appear smooth and there are no contour abnormalities when you look in the mirror, then revision liposuction may be sufficient. If there are some contour issues, then fat injections may be able to correct these areas. If the problem now is excess skin, then you need an excisional procedure (outer thigh lift). If you are happy with your abdomen, a lateral thigh incision can be created that lies under your bikini line and ends anteriorly in the groin and posteriorly on the buttock. There is no "mini" outer thigh lift unfortunately. If you are unhappy with you abdomen, this procedure can be combined with the lateral thigh lift (aka extended tummy tuck). I recommend seeing a plastic surgeon  that performs a lot of body contouring procedures to examine you and give you their opinion.
