The wait time for Dr. Richards when I scheduled my surgery Jan 26, was april or may. However, when I explained to him that I really wanted to get it done before my husband got back home from military training he got me a spot for the OR room for Feb 6. His staff was super nice and always answered my questions no matter how small they were. They were never once snobbish, just very smiley, and they looked like the really did love their job of helping others!

I can't say enough good things about Dr Richards! I started with Restylane over 5 years ago and have been coming back ever since. The office staff are also very friendly and welcoming at both locations.

I chose Dr. Richards for my SmartLipo because of his strong credentials, exceptional bedside manner, and impressive book of before-and-after liposuction photos--I couldn't believe that these were not pictures of tummy tucks because the results were SO dramatic and natural-looking: no lumps, no asymmetry, no saggy skin. I also liked that he was up-front and honest about what my results would be--that I would be sore for a few weeks, that it could take up to 6 months to see the final result, etc. I appreciated that he didn't try to sugar-coat it into sounding like an instant miracle cure, and that I never felt he was trying to "sell" me. As added bonuses, I also liked that his staff was extremely friendly (I liked everyone, but Christina was particularly engaging), the office is very clean, and his Bethesda office is convenient to public transportation. I don't plan on having any further surgery, but if I do in the future I will definitely return to Dr. Richards. I could not ask for better recovery or better results. I would absolutely, 100% recommend him for this procedure.

Dr Richards was fantastic. He was very honest but also very kind and helpful. He spoke to me and not just my mom, and he took photographs and showed me how my nose would look after the surgery, which was informative and reassuring. He gave me excellent options, and I had a very quick recovery and little pain. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking to undergo rhinoplasty surgery.

This was the second procedure that Dr. Richards had performed for me. He spoke to me for a long time two weeks before since I live far away from Bethesda; he was there in the hospital with me guiding me and he called after surgery to make sure that I was doing well. I am healing beautifully already see the more youthful face that I once had. I am grateful to him for all of his expertise and talent....

I consulted with several board-certified cosmetic plastic surgeons in the greater Washington, DC area regarding a lower face lift, and each physician seemed skilled and nice. However, I paid close attention to their portfolios of face lift patient photos, and found that although the "after" pictures looked good from the front, most of them looked only somewhat better in their profiles. However, during my consultation with Dr. Franklin D. Richards, I immediately noticed very definite and beautiful results in his extensive portfolio of face lift cases. Both the front AND profile photos of all of his face lift patients look really naturally youthful and great. I mentioned this difference in profile pictures to Dr. Richards, and he explained the importance of often addressing the neck muscles in achieving an overall improved look of the lower face, jaw, and chin area. He did not describe any of this in terms of multiple procedures (face and neck) and certainly did not charge as if it were two. His face lift portfolio speaks for itself, but I also felt his explanations reflect a particularly strong sense of artistic and professional integrity. Dr. Richards and all of his staff were absolutely wonderful to be with, and I feel very lucky to have found his practice.
