I had a SMAS facelift/ neck lift with platysma band plication and liposuction under my chin 15 months ago. As early as 6 months after surgery, my neck bands and saggy neck have returned, there are creases under my chin, pouches on the sides and jowels. My surgeon agrees that I need a revision. My concern is that I am having doubts about the surgeon's skillset. Starting with a new surgeon is financially unrealistic, as this surgery was expensive. I am so disappointed with the results.
You may want to seek the opinion of another plastic surgeon, but he/she will probably charge you full price for any further work. However, if you're okay going back to your original surgeon, he/she will most like waive many of the fees.
After being closed, my cheeks started bleeding (while I was having my eyes done) and both were reopened and suctioned. That was six weeks ago, and I'm experiencing increasing lumpiness (mostly small bumps under the skin)and have had slight indentations on each cheek since the surgery that have not gone away. Does this sound typical or more like aggravations from the reopening; in other words, should I be worried?
I would wait for about 4-6 months to make any final judgements on the results of your facelift. However, if you have any concerns in the meantime, make sure you go back to your plastic surgeon.
SMAS facelift 21 days ago. Lower jaw is very immobile, stays open when I sleep, difficult making certain sounds (f, b, p), trouble keeping food (dry) from coming out sides of mouth. If I press forward at the jawline near my ear, it relaxes the tension enough that speaking is a little easier. Will this get better? Also, feels like a very tight chin strap wrapped around my jaw that is hard to relax, kind of aches.
I have seen your pictures on other site. My answer stands. The pictures are not good because of possible animation. Need better pictures. How ever you have a major problem according to the present pictures. Wait for three months and seek a BOARD CERTIFIED PLASTIC SURGEON (AMERICAN BOARD OF PLASTIC SURGERY). You may need a new full face lift at least.
