I fell 14 years ago and bit through my lower lip. I am left with what I THINK is scar tissue on the lower wet part of the lip. This creates a bulge on the outside and my lip looks uneven. If I get the scar tissue removed, will this help with the uneven-ness? Could surgery make it worse? What is the procedure for something like this? Thank you in advance!
lip deformity after trauma is common, this could be due to many reasons, how it was repaired, scars hanging mucosa. Repair can be easily performed under local anesthesia, by excision and proper repair.

I'm looking for a permanant solution for my very thin upper lip. Is it even possible for me to have a fuller upper lip?
The lip can be augmented with the patient's own tissues (fat injections), biologic tissue fillers (Restylane, collagen, alloderm), or soft synthetic implants (Advanta, SoftForm, Gor-tex).
The lip is an area where I don't see fat grafting as the first choice because the lip moves a lot and it interferes with the take of the graft. I actually prefer synthetic fillers in the lip, or a lip lift.
