I had Laser resurfacing 2 weeks ago and am experiencing what I can only call as painful acne (I have never had any acne issues before) around my mouth and eye areas that do not seem to be getting any better. I also have swelling of lower part of my face and wanted to find out if this in normal or anything I should be concerned with?
I agree with the other posters that you should check in with your doctor. Acne is possible but usually not painful. Herpes reactivation is possible and treatment may help. The rash you describe is also possible with topical bacitracin allergy-- if you are using it.
I am 64 years old. I have just had Mixto resurfacing done....I am not expecting miracles, but I was quite disappointed as I do not realize any significant improvement. I am told that within 3 months maybe things will improve...but will they? At my age? The collagen that is supposed to kick in....will it really kick in at my age?
The strength of the laser treatment could have been inadequate to achieve the desired results for tightening of your skin, especially if your Mixto doctor was too conservative in the application of the laser. Realize however that lasers will work for fine and medium deep wrinkles but not highly deep wrinkles, so make sure that you expectations are not too high. The laser will remove a lot, but not all, of the sunspots and pigments, so you should see a nice reduction from that standpoint. If not, then perhaps your treatment was a little conservative. An experienced doctor would know the best parameters to give you appropriately aggressive treatment without causing undue risk of burns or discolorations.
I have permanent cosmetics on my eye lids and lips also. Will any kind of laser repair work on my skin and will it be affected by the Permanent cosmetics at all? Thanks for your response.
The effect of lasers on permanent make up is dependent on the lase and the wave length.
Discuss the effect of the particular laser on the particular pigment color of the make up, with your doctor
