Have had inplant for a number of years, but now the tooth comes loose and my dentist has to continually tighten the nut. Is there a procedure that can repair the receptor which appears to have a small crack in the base.
The limiting factor is that the implant is damaged. There is no way to repair it and ultimately this implant will need to be removed and replaced. So, the answer is what to do until you get tired of going to the dentist to replace the crown or wait until the crack gets bigger and won't allow for a screw to hold the crown in place. Make sure you go to an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon for the removal so it can bewitch as little bone removal as possible so that a new implant can be placed. You will likely need a one graft just like a standard extraction site, or it may be possible to place the implant at the same time.
I am a 48 year old woman in good health. I had one implant to address a fractured root (old root canal). The implant was 6 months after bone graft. The doctor provided care guidelines suggested 6 weeks on soft food. This seems out of line with other recommendations on the internet suggesting one to two weeks at most on a soft diet.
Dietary recommendations follow dental implant placement varies based on the individuals treatment. Each provider of care may have a differences in opinion .. It is always best to follow the guidelines given by your surgeon, you may have special circumstances that require a soft diet longer then normally recommended. With that being said, typical with a non-compromised placement of a dental implant, cover screw or healing cap, we would recommend a soft diet for one week…
i just think its insane and way to much. should not cost as much as 2 or 3 cars. your suppose to take care of yourself and be healthy but seriously, who can afford to these days. i really need this done but there is no way i can afford it and there is no way i can qualify for a loan nearly that high. it seems like they are saying pay up or die. i have known people who have died because of the problems i have get seriously bad.
When you think about replacing a set of naturally beautiful teeth with dental implants, it is a real miracle! Think about it! When one looses all their teeth due to trauma, or poor oral hygiene etc. there is a natural feeling of depression and self doubt, wondering how it would feel to be whole again. This is what this wonderful procedure can do for you! Typically a set of dentures would cost up to 2000.00 each so $ 4,000 for a set. But to have a naturally created implant retained bridge is a work of art, takes a great dental lab and a great Surgeon - Prosthodontist team. It take planning and communication and time to put it all together to get the best results. So, to answer, including interim dentures, and then after 6 months final prosthesis, 25,000 to 30,000 per jaw is a really reasonable fee. The main thing is to recognize that you choose the right team who has done this procedure many many times.
