I had a full surgical facelift at 48. It included neck and brow plus I had my eyes lifted too. Great result. I am now 61 and am getting some sag and jowls again (minimal). Would a mini face lift now be a good option for me? Thank you.
Although terminology can be confusing, a facelift rejuvenates the neck and jowls. The upper face is rejuvenated by a browlift and eyelift surgery. A mini-lift treats the jowls, not the neck. It sounds like you have minimal aging in the neck and just have early jowl formation. Therefore, it would appear that a minilift would be the logical next step.
A mini lift sounds sooo much more appealing to me. less expensive...less invasive...can get rid of my sagging skin and jowls. why would i opt to get full facelift surgery?
Remember. Not all facelifts are alike. One size does not fit all. A minifacelift implies less incisions and dissection with a quicker recovery. The reality is tha t many persons don't require an extensive lift. The key is realizing the portions of the face that need lifting and doing it conservatively. A small incision, skin only lift will not work for everyone. The key is to find the right surgeon, with experience, to perform the operation.
These operations are most confortable under sedation with local anesthesia.
