When considering the aging  face one  must consider sagging, hollowing and texture.  For sagging the facelift is the "gold standard". Alternatives can present less dramatic results which can provide adequate improvement for some  or may be all that an individual "needs" in others. 

Thermage utilizes radiofrequency to create collagen and fibrosis which often results in tightening and "lifting" of the skin. It has no down time. It is less expensive than traditional surgery. The results can be across a wide range dependant on the individual.  There are few complications. 

Fillers, such as Radiasse, Juvaderm, Perlane and Restylane expand the  the hollowing of the face. It provides fullness and  "lift" areas for the face.

Peels and laser resurfacing ultimately contract the skin and cause collagen formation. This makes the skin have a smoother texture. This involves some amount of downtime dependant on the procedure or peeling process. The benefit is facial tightening  which can elevate and eliminate some of the sagging skin.
