Is the Method of Fixation Different for a Facelift?
where the SMAS is elevated by plication (folding) rather than imbrication (trimming)? I the tissue fixed onto itself or into the bone? There seems to be a difference of opinion regarding technique ad longevity; and, this is very important to a patient! I know everyone's skin differs, but photos are not reliable since every doctor takes them at a different phase of recovery.
A: Types of FaceliftsThere are many types and techniques to doing a "facelift" surgery. The most long lasting and natural results are those that reposition tissues and allow those tissues to heal in that position. Relying on a suture or a thread or some other device makes "less invasive" techniques much more prone to failure. Repositioning the SMAS is now the most accepted way to maintain a lift. This can also be done in different ways with great results.... not one better than the other. Talk with your surgeon and his/her patients. Don't worry too much about the nuances of the surgery itself.
Dented Nose Bridge, Deformed Side Profile and Bottom Bigger then Top After Third Surgery, What Now?
I've gone through my third nose job and don't know what to do at this point I have no idea if my PS is doing things wrong or not. Basically 1st one my nose looked larger then before because othing was taken off bottom half, 2nd I noticed dent on bridge ppl kept asking if I was bruised bottom half still bigger he injected kenalog didn't work,3rd now more dented still bigger on bottom half what do I do ?!?!
A: Multiple revisionsThis is a tough question to answer. Every time the nose is operated on... the more scar tissue develops. This makes things much more difficult each time you go to the OR. Subtle dents may be corrected with soft tissue filler. This may be where you are headed.
Is a Revision Rhinoplasty Worth It? (photo)
I just had a rhinoplasty a month ago. Too early to judge I know, but my nose is still very big from the profile, and I do not see that changing since that's not going to change with swelling. The problems I'd like to correct with a revision in a year or so are: 1) Tip turns too much now (showing too much nostril and swoops up) 2) Deproject it more 3) Do an alar base reduction as well (my twin had this done) 4) And, making it narrower on the bridge as well... All this Possible?
A: revision rhinoplastyI agree with the others... it is really way too early to determine what the final outcome will be. The difference in swelling from the 1st month to the 3rd month can really be quite dramatic. When it comes to the nose, even 1-2mm of swelling can be a major change. Hang in there.
