I Had a otoplasty done january just gone and i'm still not happy with the results, they stick out at the top insted now, i cant wear my hair up and its cost me alot of money. Is it possible to hav e ear sculpting done at the top of the ears? i had the procedure done in London (MYA) Thankyou Kirsty 24 UK.
A very common undesired result of ear reshaping surgery (otoplasty) is the top portion not fully pulled back. Your surgeon should be made aware of your concerns and most likely they will work with you to fix the problem. It may only take a minor procure under local anesthesia with some skin removal and suture placement for you to be very pleased.
I want a permanent fix for my "dumbo ears" (big and sticking out) because I'm sick of wearing hats to cover them up and it seems like otoplasty is my only option...but I am afraid I'll end up more self-conscious about my ears if there are scars there plus everyone will know I had ear surgery.
What I want to know is - Where do they cut into you during ear surgery and are the scars really noticeable?
Otoplasty is performed from behind the ear, so you should not expect to have ANY visible scars after surgery. This makes Otoplasty a very popular procedure with patients that have protruding ears, and can really improve social confidence in youngsters and adults alike.
I want to make my ears a lot smaller, and I was just wondering how the procedure goes. And if so, how much would it cost?
Ears can be made smaller in nearly every aspect. The size of the ear, the size of the earlobe, as well as how much the ear protrudes from the face -- all aspects can be reduced in a straightforward fashion.
The technique used depends upon what exactly you want your ears to look like, and this should be discussed with your plastic surgeon. The important thing is that you want your ears to be SYMMETRIC and NATURAL APPEARING after the procedure, and if you go to someone who has ample experience in otoplasty / ear reduction, you should be very happy once you are healed.
The procedure is outpatient, and typically requires your ears to be bandaged for 2-3 days. A realistic cost is in the $2000-5000 range.
