Juvederm Lip Injections - 3 Days Later, Barely a Difference?

I had my lips injected with 1 syringe of Juvederm last Thursday. I thought it looked great! 3 days later and my lips look hardly any different than they did before I got them done. Should I contact my doctor? This was my first experience at a cosmetic surgeons office; I didn't show my doctor a photo of how I wanted my lips to look - I just told him that I was wanted my lips larger. Will this make a difference in getting the results I really wanted without having to pay another $550?

A: Juvederm for lips

I would definitely recommend you return to your doctor to be evaluated. You may need more than one syringe to achieve the fullness you desire.

Will Smoking Affect Juvederm in the Lips?

I smoke a pack a day and am having Juvederm fill up my lips tomorrow. The NP that I'm going to didn't ask me about smoking and I didnt bring it up.

Will there be more of a risk of bruising and bleeding because of this? If I don't smoke all day tomorrow and my appointment is at 3 would that make any difference? Or am I already screwed..lol Thanks!

A: Can a smoker get Juvederm?

Rest assured that there is no data indicating that smoking will cause bleeding or bruising which could complicate your Juvederm procedure to the lips. HOWEVER, smoking has a whole host of other problems that can significantly complicate your health. Smoking also causes lip lines and will certainly decrease the amount of time Juvederm will last in the lips. Good luck.

Juvederm for More Padding in the Ball of the Foot?

Can Juvederm be injected in the ball of the foot to give it more padding? If so, how long does it last?

A: Can Juvederm be injected in the ball of the foot?

With pain from bone spurs in the heel, several patients request a procedure to increase the padding in that area. This is certainly not a common procedure, but has validity. Personally, I have not done the procedure, but would recommend trying a longer lasting filler in the area, maybe even Radiesse. Good luck.
