Major Increase in Nasolabial Folds After Botox for Crow's Feet

I had botox to crow's feet and I look AWFUL. I'm so upset. I have several Christmas parties to attend and I feel so self concious. I was hesitant to have botox to crow's area, but the Plastic Surgeon assured me that "the only thing that can happen is that you'll have no crow's feet." Now I have like 4 parenthesis around each side of mouth when I smile, before botox I only had 1-2. What went wrong, and is there anything I can do? I am going back today to see what he can do.

A: Nasolabial folds and Botox treatment of Crows' feet lines

The good news is it looks like the Crows' feet aren't there. There can sometimes be a surprise effect on the zygomaticus muscles, which elevate the cheeks and corners of the mouth. If this is just due to a little diffusion (most likely), it should correct itself in a week or so. But it could take longer. Seeing your PS again is a good idea.

Can Filler in Cheeks and Tear Trough Slow or Prevent Recovery from Bad Botox Near Eyes?

I had a bad Botox experience 2 months ago. Had it for crows feet and it created cheek ptosis and bad hollows under eyes. I had filler in tear trough and cheek after that to try to look better. It did not help and made it worse (bags under eyes and puffy cheeks). I'm considering dissolving the filler everywhere. I hope it is safe. I also reckon that the filler might prevent my eyes and cheek muscles to recover from Botox? What do you think? Thanks for your help in advance.

A: Fillers don't interfere with Botox

In general, the Botox effects should resolve in about three months after the injections. Any fillers that were placed can be "dissolved" with hyaluronidase safely. There should be no interference with your returning to the way you were before all of these interventions started.

Why Do Dentists Do Botox? Is It Safe?

I was surprised when my dentist offered to throw in a Botox treatment with my dental work. He said many dentists offer Botox these days. Is it ok/wise to get Botox from a dentist?

A: Botox is safe in trained hands

Botox is a very safe drug, but you should be cautious with whom you get it done. In general, you should stick with a well trained, experienced physician. As a general rule, the important consideration is not so much who you trust when things go easily and well, but the critical consideration is who is best able to take care of you if something goes wrong. It's nit hard to learn to reconstitute and inject, but it's another level of knowledge and expertise to know what NOT to do and why, and how to deal with unanticipated outcomes. I'm not sure a general dentist is who I would recommend to inject your Botox. Similarly, while I have experience in treating malignancies of the head and neck as well as treating maxillofacial trauma, I wouldn't presume to treat dental or gum disease.
