my doc injected restylane under the muscle to treat my undereye hollows. after 3-5 days, i noticed that my frontal cheek pads, the area right below the underye hollow, was more puffy looking. is it possible the restylane injected under the muscle actually dropped down ?
At Cosmetic Boot Camp, one of the most comprehensive courses for board certified dermatologists and plastic surgeons, the consensus is always, every year, that Restylane is the preferred filler for the tear trough area. This is because it "sticks" better where it is injected. The likely explanation for what you are expereincing early on is swelling. Be sure that you do not sleep face down; try to sleep on your back on 2-3 pillows. Avoid alcohol and salty foods. See your treating physician if it is not better in 5-7 days.
I am 23 years old and have dark circles caused by thin skin. They are genetic and have really bothered me since I was 16. A week ago I had restylane injections and feel like they did very little to improve skin texture and discoloration. My question is "what next?"
You may be expecting too much from the fillers. Fillers are used to fill lines and depressions. The filler are not indicated to improve the texture and discoloration.
I had two syringes of Restylane four days ago, why do I see no results? The injecter suggested that I have one syringe in the upper check area on both sides hoping to lift up and out because I have lost weight in my face. I shared that I wanted my checks to look fuller and I was concerned about the lines on both side of my mouth. I could hear and feel the injection into my upper check bone. I was bruised from the inside but with ice no sign of any bruising on the outside. What do I do?
You need to go back to your surgeon and look at the before pictures to see the results. If you are not happy with 2 cc of the fillers, you may need face lift and or fat grafting. For the patients that have lost a lot of soft tissue , fat grafting works better.
