Options for Improving Belly Button Appearance After Tummy Tuck?

I had a tummy tuck and some lipo work done in March of 07. Before the surgery I could see my belly button. Presently, my belly button looks like puckered lips, and I am unable to see it. I would like to know if that will change over time? I would also like to know if there is anything that I could do about the appearance of my belly button?

I am happy with the results of the surgery but expected my belly button to look better. I really do not like it. It looks like I had something done.

A: Revise Belly Button

Occasionally, the belly button requires a minor revision. this can be done in the office with local anesthesia and little or no down time. Talk to your doctor, he will probably be happy to take care of this for you.

Will Bunched-up Skin from Tummy Tuck Tighten After Swelling?

I am 6 days post “custom” tummy tuck and am very concerned about what the results will look like. Once the swelling goes down, will I have a belly button? Will the bunched up skin go away?

I'm concerned I’ll still have extra skin and it won't be tight. I'm second guessing why my dr. recommended this incision type instead of the traditional horizontal bikini line incision. Is it okay to ask my doctor to fix it if I'm not satisfied? I have attached after picture.

A: Custom Tummy Tuck?

I am not quite sure what was done to your tummy. Did you have an old scar in that area already? Also, was your surgeon a board certified plastic surgeon? If not, I would recommend a second opinion with a plastic surgeon.

Options for Addressing Post Pregnancy Belly?

I am only 19 and after having my son, I have loose baggy skin with wrinkles. At a consultation i was told a full tummy tuck with hernia repair(umbilical hernia) was needed. I have a 2 inch seperation in my lower abdominal area. I was just wondering, are there any other options that would help, and if it is too soon to get this done?

A: Sorry! No easy fixes for post pregnancy belly

You probably need a tummy tuck to get rid of the skin laxity and excess after your pregnancy. With my younger patients such as yourself, I advise them to consider when and if they will have more children. If it is in the way distant future, I think it is okay to do it at your age, providing you understand that future pregnancies might stretch out your tummy again.
