Will Getting More Juvederm Voluma over Time Slow Its Absorption ?

Juvederm Voluma (two syringes) was injected in my checks to increase volume so as to decrease the laugh lines. I am 28 and am very athletic. The results I saw initially were amazing. After a month the lines were back. I went back to the clinic and was told over time my body will absorb it slower so that the time between injections will increase. I was also told to stick with this product since I am getting great results initially. I have only had it injected the one time.

A: Adding filler (Juvederm) over time helps maintain steady results

In response to the poster who inquires about needing less Juvederm over time: the explanation you were given by the injector is partially correct... you may need less over time.

First of all, the results should last longer than one month. The initial results you had may be due to swelling, so you may need more injected.

Adding more filler before the original filler is completely dissolved is okay... it's like adding more gas to the tank before the tank is completely empty.... It won't make the original gas last longer, but you'll go farther because you've added more.

Some fillers do work by stimulating collagen where they are placed. This is called fibrogenesis. HA fillers like Juvederm have some evidence that they may do this, but probably not as much as other fillers such as Sculptra or Radiesse.

So, it is true that you may need less over time, but not very likely.

Is Juvederm Ultra Plus a Good Choice for Subtle Laugh Lines?

Hi. I Am 33 Years with Subtle Laugh Lines. My doctor suggested Juvederm Ultra Plus in one 0.8 syringe for both sides. Kindly advise if this would an ideal option for subtle laugh lines. Thanks.

A: Filler choice depends on facial area

When considering which filler is best for certain facial areas, it pays to see an experienced injector.  If, by "subtle laugh lines", you mean small superficial areas around the mouth and cheeks with motion, Juvederm Ultra Plus may be a great choice.  It is not a great choice for small perioral wrinkles, though, as it is generally too thick for this area (Juvederm Ultra works better here).  However, if you are experiencing significant volume depletion, Sculptra or Radiesse may work better than Juvederm Ultra Plus.

An in-person consultation with an experienced injector in India is your best bet to find the perfect choice.

Juvederm for Frown Lines I have a crease not so deep on my forehead between my eyes, I think is called frown line. I only have one, it's visible and I look too serious, it's not deep though. I'm a male and my question is: is Juverdern best to fill it up and make it disappear so I won't look serious anymore? I don't want to use botox but need a filler and will it be enough with one syringe. My crease is 3/4 of an inch. Thanks! Moises
A: Filler and Botox can both work for glabellar frown lines

Hyaluronic acid fillers can help to fill glabellar frown lines, due to years of muscle activity in the area.  One syringe will certainly be enough to help improve lines in this area.

Botox works even better to prevent these lines from worsening and relax the lines currently present.  For best results a combination of Botox and fillers is ideal.

However, you need to see a dermatologist or plastic surgeon in person to have your unique situation evaluated and treated.
