Would the total cost be less if I have them both procedures (tummy tuck and breast lift) done at the same time?
The cost of these as well as other aesthetic procedures will vary widely across the country and to a lesser extent within communities. In general the cost will be greater on either coast and in larger cities. Some surgeons will discount the second procedure while others will not. My total cost be would be in the neighborhood of $8,500-9,000 here in Louisville which would include my fee, hospital care, anesthesia, supplies, etc. (including a reduction in fee for the second procedure).
I have a small script tattoo on the left side of my chest, above my breast, not actually on it. I lost 80 pounds, though and my breasts gave become saggy, right now they are a saggy 36 C/D (inbetween sizes), and I am looking to get them lifted and augmented to a large d. Will doing this cause my tattoo to shift or morph?
It would have been helpful to see a photo so that the exact location of your tattoo is known; however, if it is located above rather than on your breast, an augmentation with lift should have little if any effect on it. Most of the change in this procedure is to the skin of the breast per se, especially on the lower half of the breast.
By the time I will have a tummy tuck/breast lift, I will be almost smoke-free for a month. I smoke 1-2 cigarettes per WEEK. Are my risks similar to that of a non-smoker since I smoke so rarely, or am I still at an increased risk? I'm most concerned with necrosis...
Although almost everyone will have less problems if they are not smoking at the time of surgery, smoking definitely affects some operations more than others. Unfortunately tummy tucks are a great risk for necrosis if patients smoke post-operatively and breast lifts to a somewhat lesser degree. I do not attempt to have augmentation stop smoking, but I will not perform a full tummy tuck on a smoker. There is a significant disruption of the normal blood supply in tummy tucks to the remaining abdominal skin. It takes only a single cigarette post-op to potentially result in large areas of necrosis.
