Would a Bulbous Nasal Tip Reduction Be Successful for Me?

As you can see, my nose sticks out considerably further than my chin (I don't want a chin implant). Would getting a tip reduction help this? Also, it points downward when I smile and it makes me very self conscious when smiling. Would it fix this? I got a rhinoplasty done just to remove a small hump on the bridge of my nose about seven months ago but there was no work done to the tip of my nose because I've been afraid it would come out looking "pinched". What do you think? Thank you so much!

A: Tip reduction most likely will help you

The pictures you post are some what misleading due to the fishbowl effect and the incorrect angle, a proper recomendation can only be done with a face to face examination, however it looks like a properly done tip refining surgery (open approach) with sutures will improve your tip defining points and give you the result you desire.

DOes My Case Require Full Rhinoplasty or Tip Plasty? (photo)

This is the look I'm trying to get after doing my nose. Two plastic surgens told me all I need is tip plasty and two other plastic surgens told me I have to do a rhinoplasty to get that look. Please let me know what you think and thank you in advance.

A: If dorsum is OK, you could have a tip rhinoplasty, but usually full is best

If you feel that the dorsum (bony part) of your nose is fine, and you simply want the tip refined and elevated, it is possible to do this with a tip rhinoplasty alone (no breaking of the nasal bones).  However, most of the time I do a full rhinoplasty so the nose looks balanced - not too large in the upper part relative to a reduced tip.  So my hunch is, if I saw you in person, we would consider a full rhinoplasty to get the most harmonious result top to bottom.

I talk about this more on my website.

Yes.  Yours is a very common problem-- just look around you.  Find a doctor that you trust and whose photos you admire.  Good luck!
