Rhinoplasty Review – Mr. Munish Shandilya (Surgery on 16th May 2025) I had an external approach septorhinoplasty and nasal tip plasty with Mr. Munish Shandilya on Friday the 16th of May 2025, and I can confidently say it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Today, I had my cast, dressings, and stitches removed, and even though there’s still swelling as expected at this early stage, I’m already absolutely thrilled with my results. Mr. Shandilya has truly worked magic. My new nose is everything I hoped for and more. It’s refined, natural-looking, and most importantly, still looks like me. The bump that always bothered me is completely gone, my nose is beautifully straight, the deviation has been corrected, and the tip is now lifted and subtly defined. It’s honestly perfect, and most importantly, it suits my face. I didn’t want a trendy, overly sloped or upturned “piggy” nose that would look out of place on my features. Mr. Shandilya understood that and delivered results that are balanced, harmonious, and completely in keeping with my natural look. What amazed me most is how incredible the results already look just one week post-op. I had barely any bruising at all, which speaks volumes about Mr. Shandilya’s skill and precision. I genuinely can’t believe how good I look today with the cast just off, it’s far beyond what I expected at this stage. His technique and gentle approach have made the recovery process so much smoother than I imagined. I also didn’t experience any pain whatsoever, just a bit of discomfort and that typical blocked-nose feeling. The most challenging part was sleeping elevated and having to breathe through my mouth at night, which wasn’t pleasant, but it’s such a small price to pay for the results I’ve gotten. Overall, the recovery has been incredibly manageable. What impressed me even more was how safe and cared for I felt throughout the entire process. Mr. Shandilya was incredibly thorough from the very first consultation. He really took the time to listen to my concerns, assess my facial structure, and explain what was possible in realistic and reassuring terms. I appreciated how he never rushed me, and every question I had, no matter how small, was answered with patience and expertise. I also had to undergo a psychological evaluation before surgery, which shows how seriously he takes patient well-being both physical and emotional. It’s clear that Mr. Shandilya prioritizes responsible practice and truly wants the best outcomes for his patients. His professionalism, combined with a warm and calm demeanour, put me completely at ease, not to mention his sense of humour, which made the whole process feel a lot lighter and more relaxed. He is, without question, a brilliant surgeon. From my initial consultation in September 2024 through to my CT scan and nasal scope in February, the psych evaluation in March, and my second consultation at the end of March, the whole process was incredibly smooth and well-organised. The communication throughout was excellent, especially with Sarah and Fiona, his secretaries, who were always so friendly, professional, and quick to respond to emails. They were consistently helpful and always willing to answer any questions I had, no matter how minor. Their warmth and efficiency made such a difference and helped everything run seamlessly. The entire experience was made even better by Mr. Shandilya’s wonderful clinical team. Everyone I encountered was attentive, professional, and clearly very good at what they do. It made the whole journey feel so supported from start to finish. I truly appreciate you and your team looking after me so well. The day of the surgery went smoothly, and post-op care has been equally fantastic. I felt supported and well-informed every step of the way. Today, with the cast finally off, I’m genuinely over the moon with what I see in the mirror. And this is only the beginning. I can’t wait to see how my results continue to refine as the swelling gradually subsides over the next few months. I wholeheartedly recommend Mr. Munish Shandilya to anyone considering rhinoplasty. He’s a brilliant surgeon. His work speaks volumes, and I feel incredibly lucky to have been in such capable hands. If you’re looking for results that are both transformative and natural, with a surgeon who genuinely cares and a team that supports you every step of the way, look no further. I’m amazed by your skill and care, Mr. Shandilya, thank you so, so much for everything!
From the start Dr. Shandilya was amazing, seeing my problem straight away. The surgery went amazingly well and I gotta say I didn't feel any pain whatsoever and after 8 months after the surgery I've never been breathing better. Really happy with the outcome and I can finally resume my life as usual. Before I would wake up very tired everyday but now I can sleep throught the night and feel rested. Thank you very much.
I went to Dr Shandilya firstly when I was 14 as I had broken my nose in the playground when I was 9. He was very patient with me and he undertook an operation to fix it when I turned 18. I was very nervous for all the aspects of the experience but when I saw what a thorough approach Dr Shandilya and all of the nurses took to the whole procedure, I was put at ease. I am 6 months post op and I am very happy with my results. I struggled with the appearance and the function of my nose for over a decade and now I am very happy with how it looks and works!
About 3 years ago I noticed something was not right with my breathing. When I was walking a bit faster or was carrying something and had to take bigger breath , felt like no air was coming in through my nose and had to breathe trough my mouth.Because of that I had a sore throat a lot, especially during winter . I went to my GP who said I had a cartilage problem in my nose but nothing to worry about a simple surgery could fix it.So he referred me to ENT .In the hospital I was told that I had a nasel valve collapse on the right side and probably had a deviated septum as well but could not tell for sure so he sent me for a CT scan to see what else was going further up in the nose. The result showed I had a "curve" in my septum. Also, fixing the valve was quite complicated so the doctor wanted to refer me to another doctor who had a bit more experience in that area. Unfortunaly, my breathing was getting worse quite fast for some reason up to a point where it had a effect on my sleep and I was exhausted. I was seeing that doctor for almost 3 years, none of the appointments lasted more than 5 or 6 minutes and was waiting 12 to 14 months in between appointments. After the last appointment , which was in july , seemed like it wasnt going to get fixed anytime soon. So I decided to go private. I was looking before that but just as an option. Mr. Shandilya's name kept popping up. Because I was told getting the tip fixed was complicated , I wanted someone who had the relevant experience in that particular area. He seemed to fit that criteria. So I contacted his office in August. We had our first appointment in September. He was very polite, respectful. He was also very professional and I could see that he took great pride in his work. One of the first thing that caught my eye was that he did not rush through the appointment. He really took his time to ask all the questions that needed to be asked. My main goal was to get my breathing better but I thought while I'm there why not get the cosmetic part done as well. You know,to kill two birds with one stone. So, I decided to go with septorhinoplasty. I did not have a specific picture in my mind just that make the tip smaller or more proportionate for my face. My nose was not all that bad before surgery, if I had to rate it I would have given a 5, 5.5 out 10. So it wasnt really my main concern aesthetically speaking. Mr. Shandilya took some pictures and then told me what he changes he would make.It seemed reasonable. When I left I had a good feeling about this. Our next appointment was in October. Again, he was very nice explained everything again.Put me at ease.I decided to go through with the surgery. I got booked in on the 7th of December for the surgery. Closer to that date I got a bit nervous. I mean, this was going to be my first ever surgery. I sent an email to his secretary with a few questions. Just wanted to make sure that were on the same page that kinda thing.A simple email would have been fine but Dr. Shandilya called me on the phone the same day and reassured me that everything was going to be fine and went through everything again. It felt good that he actually took time to call me.I knew it then and there that I made the right choice to go with him. On the day of the surgery, everything went well. He came to see me afterwards.Asked me how I was feeling.Told me everything went well and he was going to see me a week after. I had no pain whatsoever , minimal bruising. It was a bit yellowish under my eyes nothing too bad.I spent 1 night in the hospital.Went home next morning. The following week I felt a huge difference in my breathing. It has improved a lot!! A week after the tapes and sutures were removed. Everything looked great but really swollen which was normal and expected at that point. Now, I am almost 6 weeks after surgery. My nose is still quite swollen and I still have a long way to go to see the final results. I am positive it is going get better. What I wanted out of this surgery was accomplished. My breathing got way better and the appearance of my nose so much better. Everybody was so helpful and accomodating throughout this journey, not just the doctor but also his secretaries Fiona and Sarah. So a huge thank you for them as well. In general, I had a wonderful experience with Doctor Shandilya. I would 100% recommend him. He has years and years of experience , knows what he is doing and most importantly, he cares. It makes me wonder , why I waited this long to get this done. :-)
My experience of having a revision rhinoplasty surgery with Mr Shandilya for start to finish was great. Mr Shandilya did not rush the process and took care in his approach being that it was a revision, explaining how the tip and bridge could be refined in a subtle way while understanding my areas of concern. After having surgery I had minimal discomfort and minimal bruising. Overall almost 4 months since the procedure I am happy with the results which should continue to improve as any swelling subsides.
It’s almost impossible to put into words how thrilled I am with my ‘new’ nose. My breathing has improved extraordinarily and the look of my nose has transformed my face. It has given me so much more confidence. From the first visit I knew I was in good hands. Mr. Shandilya took great care to go through everything carefully. He doesn’t rush the process. This is hugely important when dealing with such a prominent facial feature of course and gave me great peace of mind. The hospital stay was so seemless and the care was excellent. The recovery was quick and relatively pain-free as result of the skilled team. I would have no hesitation whatsoever recommending Mr. Shandilya to anyone considering rhinoplasty.
Dr. Shandilya fixed my badly deviated septum from a previous rugby-related injury. Before, I could barely breathe through the affected nostril, which negatively impacted the quality of my life. Now, I can breathe perfectly through both nostrils, and I am so grateful to Dr. Shandilya. Although the recovery time was fairly long (two months or so), the whole process was seamless. I would highly recommend Dr. Shandilya.
My experience with Dr Shandilya was great from start to finish. I’d spent years researching a surgeon and I’m delighted I went with him. Dr Shandilya emphasised that all patients are unique and does not opt for the “trendy” nasal appearance - which was very important for me. His team were great at responding when I reached out with concerns or questions. The aftercare and contact has been a great indicator of his care for his patients post surgery. Would 100% recommend.
I had rhinoplasty with Mr Shandilya in September and I am so happy with it. I was very nervous but Mr Shandilya was very reassuring and attentive to my needs. The surgery went excellent, I felt very little pain and recovered in days. I had some bleeding for a few days after which is normal but minimal bruising . My nose looks very natural and no one would even notice I had work done! Would recommend Mr Shandilya 100% ... Thank you !

Hi Good,Your skin appears to be of a thickness appropriate for the ethnicity. The difficulty in refining the nasal tip is usually the challenging part in a thicker skin and from what I see the nasal tip looks well. The Naso-labial angle where the nose meets the upper lip is less clear from these photographs. What can be achieved can only be answered after establishing what your aspirations are ... Digital morphing of your photographs by a surgeon can help in that regard.Best !
Dear Redpetal The Profile picture does show that the Nasal Tip cartilages are a bit more anteriorly placed compared to the lower dorsum. If you dislike this, Digital Morphing would be a first step to see if retro-projection of nasal tip cartilages with minor refinement is more to your liking. Digital morphing is only an indicator of desired objective and final results may differ to some extent. Best wishes
Dear Independent The appearance of a sudden nasal dorsal swelling and an incidental "dot" at the nasal tip will prompt me to exclude that this isn't a nasal Cyst / Dermoid before considering its cosmetic management. I would suggest getting seen by an Otorhinolaryngologist ... Best
Dear Eclectic Suspicion of septal deviation in self can arise from1. Nasal Blockage2.Deviated nose tip and Dorsum : appearance or palpation3.Narrowing of nasal pathway on deep inspiration Visiting an Otolaryngologist / Facial Plastic Surgeon is the simpler option ...
Dear Practical Roughly three months since surgery ... I would expect both the skin tag and the blood vessel to settle down.If corrected under Local Anaesthesia ... Now or later if still necessary ... I do not envisage any problems. From what one can see it is a beautiful Nasal Tip and Dorsum ... Best Wishes
