“A Wonderful Experience - Sioux City, IA”

Posted by Sharahawkinson

Dr. Gallego took everything I said into consideration when we discussed my rhinoplasty and then told me, truthfully, what he thought. I appreciate this since he obviously has more experience than me. He even spent some extra time during surgery to make sure that everything looked good. With this being my first ever surgery, I was definitely scared but he and his staff made me feel comfortable and always let me know what to expect. They even called a few days later to make sure that everything was going well.

American Society of Plastic Surgeons Releases Statistics for 2011

Recently, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons(ASPS) released their statistics for 2011. The numbers continue to show an increase in the number of cosmetic procedures performed in the United States. This uptick is thought to be related to the improvement in the overall economy. Every year, the ASPS ask its members to submit summaries of the number and types of procedures performed for the calendar year. The society then makes those numbers available to the public...

Tummy Tuck Website

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons estimates that roughly 116,000 patients underwent a tummy tuck in 2010. A tummytuck, a.k.a. abdominoplasty, is a cosmetic procedure which dramatically improves the appearance of the abdominal region. Patients may develop a protruding, unsightly abdomen for a number of reasons including pregnancy, weight fluctuations, or as a normal process in an otherwise healthy person. The abdominal deformity typically includes an excess of skin,...

Still Wondering if Botox® Cosmetic is Right for You?

Botox® Cosmetic injections for the treatment of unwanted frown lines remains an extremely popular minimally invasive procedure. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons estimate that 5.4 million Botox® Cosmetic treatments were performed in 2010. This was actually an increase of 12% compared to 2009. The ideal candidate has worrisome, vertical frown lines involving the space between the eyebrows. These lines are sometimes apparent at rest, but are typically made...

Is Your Plastic Surgeon Board Certified?

The term “board certified” seems to get thrown around quite a bit these days. Patients are constantly encouraged to make certain that their surgeon is “board certified.” In addition, the surgeon must be “board certified” by the appropriate certifying board, not some lesser board. So what is the big deal anyway with board certification?   Board certification is a credentialing process where physicians voluntarily complete a list of requirements...

Radiesse®: An Effective Treatment Option for Wrinkles

Sooner or later it happens to each one of us.  We look at our face in the mirror, and start to see lines that did not used to be there.  Obviously, no one is fan of wrinkles.  Luckily, for those who are concerned or even discouraged with facial wrinkles, fine lines, and deep folds, there are...
