Q: Exact Rhinoplasty procedure for bulbous tip?
A:
Hello,
Many different options exist for experienced rhinoplasty surgeons to change the appearance of a bulbous tip. The exact technique chosen should take into effect
- your facial features and proportions
- ethnicity
- existing nasal dimensions (height of dorsum, projection and rotation of tip, width of base)
- your desires
Different options to change the appearance of the tip include altering the existing tip cartilage (lower lateral cartilages), grafting your tip or altering other features of your nose that may be out of balance with the tip. Care should be taken to ensure your nasal breathing is not adversely affected.
Rhinoplasty is as much art as surgery and a careful discussion of your expectations with your surgeon, to include photo morphing, will help ensure your satisfaction with the procedure.
Good luck!
