What Are the Methods to Fix a Herniated Areola (Stage 2 and 3)?

the herniated areola is the remaining of tuberous breast deformity post surgical correction with inframmamary incision. constriction was released from the inside. can fixing the hernia compromize nipple sensation?

A: Fixing the nipple in a tuberous breast

The mushroom like projection of the nipple in a tuberous breast is controlled by releasing the constricted skin around the base of the areola and spreading the nipple areola out after the tissue within the breast is released as well. Nipple sensation is not a problem with the release, though a large breast implant can cause numbness as it challenges the tissue to relax and expand to accommodate the implant.

Areola Reduction

I cannot find much info on an areola reduction. I am a 38DDD is an areola reduction an option at all? I imagine it is not and I am sure I need a full lift. I have a consultation for a TT and I am going to ask about my breasts as well. In a perfect world I would be a candidate for an areola reduction with implants. I do not care so much about upper pole fullness but more about nipple placement. I also would like them to be slightly larger. I am 5'10 btw.

A: Areolar reduction as part of breast lift

Your photos do show that the nipple is below the breast fold and you would be a good candidate for a breast lift. Most breast lift procedure will reduce and balance the size of the areola as part of the procedure.

To What Extent Can my Areolas be Reduced?

I have very large areolas. My right areola is slightly larger, although my breasts are approximately the same size. I'm 23, 5'2'', weigh 120 lbs, never been pregnant and don't intend to in the next several years. I am interested in getting just an areola reduction (no other procedures) and I would like them to be reduced as much as is possible without any serious risks of side effects. How intricate would such a procedure be and what is the maximum size reduction I can expect?

A: Nipple or areolar reduction

Nipple reduction is sometimes the only goal of breast rejuvenation, and very often a part of a breast lift or reduction. The size of the areola can be determined by breast size, chest size, and overall aesthetics. One size does not fit all, though a range of about 3.5 to 5.5 cm. is a working number. Side effects for areolar reduction are few, though the scar can be problem for some.

Best of luck,
