Can Restylane Be Used to Even out Jaw Line?

can restylane be used to even out jaw line

A: Restylane and the jaw line.

Improvement of jaw line contour is possible with Restylane and other dermal fillers.

Jowls have typically been thought to be related to sagging. It is now understood that "jowling" and other aging changes are related to loss of soft tissue ( fat) volume.

Since dermal fillers such as Restylane restore lost volume, these injectables can improve jaw line contour.  Thicker fillers such as Perlane and products containing hydroxyapatite, such as Radiesse are usually used.

Can Restylane Be Used to Fill Eye/Cheekbone Area?

if cheek bones were filled out it would pull up loose skin under eyes ?????

A: Restylane for Eyelids and Cheeks

Restylane is a safe, time proven injectable that offers excellent results for improving lower eyelid and cheek contour. When treating lower eyelid hollowness, Restylane is preferred over the thicker version, called Perlane.

Perlane is more useful for soft tissue cheek contouring. Another product, Radiesse may be better suited for augmenting the bones of your cheek.

Both Restylane, Perlane, and Radiesse can be used together to offer optimal results.

Can Restylane Injections Damage my Eyes?

I will be having Restylane injected for my under eye hollows. I am so afraid. I worry about retinal occulusion, and blindness. I also worry about long term effects. Can you give me your opinion about the procedure under the eyes? Thank you.

A: RESTYLANE AND THE EYE

Restylane and other hyaluronic acid derivatives are an effective and time proven substance for correcting under eye hollowing (tear troughs).  The usual side effects are bruising, redness, and tenderness that subside quickly. Lumpiness or a blue-tinge to the eyelid skin (Tyndall effect) are other side effects resulting from misplacement of the filler substance.

In extremely rare instances the injectable filler can be inadvertently placed into a vein or artery resulting in a stroke to the retina or optic nerve and permanent blindness. Once again this is an exceedingly rare side effect of treatment.
