I had a lower bleph 5 months ago. I had an incision under the eye and fat removed. One eye is perfect the other is left larger and I have a small scleral show about 1mm. My lower eyelid looks lower than the other). I know this is not much but to me it is making me very unhappy. I have been to see an oculoplastic surgeon for a second opinion and he said it is very slight compared to others but he could perform a canthpexy or canthoplasty to correct this, but could this make it worse? Very worried
There are some individuals who have a small degree of scleral show naturally, though most do not, and lid postion can be altered with lower lid surgery. If you are troubled by the show on one side a canthopexy will tighten and lift the lid. Could it make things worse? Perhaps though it can be done well. The procedure would be much like doing one lid over from the start.

Hi, I had upper eyelid surgery nearly 4 weeks ago. One eye, which didn't shut completely after surgery, shut two weeks after, but I still have a feeling of great tightness in that eye like someone is pulling my eye skin upwards towards my eyebrow and is making my eye feel very tired and is giving me headaches. The swelling in that eye is mainly only in the area between the eyelash and incision and the swelling improves towards the evening but the feeling of tightness never goes. Why is this?
We hope that the tighness will resolve. The key is choosing a surgeon well trained and board certified. No telling what was done, and when it might get better.

Always had great results with Botox but went with Dysport last time and results were horrible. Made my eyes smaller, brow lower and lids super puffy. It's worn off now but my lids have become so hooded that they stick together, I raise my brow to see better and I always look mad (due to being 45, not result of Dysport). Do I go with Botox/Dysport again or get upper and lower lid surgery? Or given how my lower lids look, would fillers work instead? Thanks!
Botox along the crow's feet area can tend to relax and raise the brow slightly and open the lid, though upper lid rejuvention works in a different way reducing skin hooding, improving upper lid 'show', and reducing fat or fullness in the inner lid. If Botox pleased you in the past, keep it up, though if the lid hooding is getting you down, it is time for blepharoplasty.
