I overweight and I have a lot of body fat. I really want to get this done before I get married next year. My weight is about 230 and my height is 5'5 . I really need to get most of the fat off. How much would this cost me?
Liposuction is not indicated for weight loss. Your BMI (body mass index) is 38.3; obesity is defined as a BMI greater than 30. Your risks of any surgery are also increased. You should lose weight to less than 180 lbs. (BMI of 30) for a safer and better result.
I'm 43 years old with a fairly good skin tone. I'm 5"7, 137 lbs. I exercise 5 days a week and follow a healthy diet. No matter how much weight I lose, i still have fat in my abdomen and thighs. I'm considering liposuction on these areas but not sure if i'm a good candidate especially that I have cellulite in the thighs.
The best candidates for liposuction are near their ideal weight, with localized areas of fat excess. Your height and weight are close to that ideal. More importantly, your skin in the areas with excess fat should have qualities that allow it to contract once the fat is removed. Sites with stretch marks or cellulite will usually not produce good contraction and may leave you with loose, empty skin.
Lipo of the stomach and hips, small back area. I was just quoted almost $8000 for 2.5 hours in the facility and $4900 doctor fee. Is that average cost?
For Chicago, the $8000 fee sounds reasonable for OR, anesthesia, and MD fee for the time required and the multiple sites you've mentioned.
