What's the Best One Treatment Option for Acne Scars?

Is one treatment of Deep FX or Fraxel Repair enough for acne scarring? I'm 21 and have about 6 weeks off, and am looking for the best treatment option.

Fortunately, we have many more good treatment options for acne scars today than even a couple years ago. These include lasers, subscision (a minor surgical procedure to release bound down scars), fillers, excisions, along with many other in-office therapies.

Which treatment will work best for you depends on many factors: the number and types of scars, the location of the scars on the face, discoloration of the skin, texture of the scar, etc. Often, people have several different types of scars, requiring a combination of techniques to ensure the best results.

The effectiveness of these treatments varies tremendously as well. Depending on the scar type and severity, the visibility of acne scars can be reduced anywhere from 10% to 99% using a combination of treatments. It is best to see your board certified physician and be properly evaluated prior to settling on any particular therapy. It is good to ask about their experience treating scars such as yours. Also, be sure to point out which scars bother you the most. Sometimes those turn out to be the easy fixes! What really matters is the acne scars that concern you. Those should be addressed first.

How Much Does Botox Cost?

I am going to get my first Botox injection for frown lines, forehead lines, and crow's feet.  I don't want to get ripped off. Can a doctor please tell me - What is the best price for Botox?

Botox injections in Chicago cost approximately $15 per unit. This amount is fairly standard throughout the midwest.

If you are struggling with your decision to receive Botox, remember that a Board Certified Dermatologist is your best bet. As fun as it may sound, Botox parties at your friends' homes are not safe.
