I had facial liposuction 4 weeks ago on the area under my chin, neck and "jowls." I am 33 and it looks pretty good. There is some swelling still and it feels lumpy or tight under the skin in some areas. The doctor recommend doing light massage on it at this point. Can using a Clarisonic help? What kind of massage/technique should I do and how often? When will the swelling subside?
Massage after liposuction is most often a good idea. It helps with the swelling and with the lumpiness that you may notice immediately postoperatively. For other parts of the body, we have been using Smooth Shapes and/or Cellupulse treatments to soften areas that remain firm after liposuction.
This is possible, but not likely. In my practice, I see color changes very, very infrequently. If anything, there are hypersensitivity issues, but this usually resolves on its own after a few weeks. Other things you may notice: waviness, surface irregularities, and loose skin.
I am a male in my early 40s. I am 5'11, 181 and in pretty good shape. i work out and am not overweight, BUT my entire neck area is fatty and has been for many many years. when i put my chin down to my chest it looks particularly bad. How effective might LaserLipo be in a case like mine? I have read many people here writing about excruciating pain, brusineg and swelling in other areas of their body, but can't find much specifically written about the neck. thanks.
This is an excellent way to treat the excess fat under your chin and around your neck. Adding the laser improves the chances of getting the results you want. This procedure is safe and effective. Depending on the extent of your "problem," we can do this under local anesthetic and have you on your way home in just a couple of hours. From my experience, excruciating pain, bruising, and swelling is uncommon with this procedure.
