can restylane be used to even out jaw line
Improvement of jaw line contour is possible with Restylane and other dermal fillers.
Jowls have typically been thought to be related to sagging. It is now understood that "jowling" and other aging changes are related to loss of soft tissue ( fat) volume.
Since dermal fillers such as Restylane restore lost volume, these injectables can improve jaw line contour. Thicker fillers such as Perlane and products containing hydroxyapatite, such as Radiesse are usually used.
I had restylane injected in my upper lip 5 months ago, I can feel lumps on the inside of my lip, one small visible one where the needle went in in the middle and an irregular appearance above my lipline. I went to a new surgeon to look at it, and he said there was no product left in there and that it could be scar tissue from bad technique. How can I get back to my pre restylane state, I wasn't to concerned about it, because i thought once the material absorbed it would go away...
Even though it has been 5 months, it is possible you still have Restylane in the lips. If you have bumps on the lips you do not like, I would suggest contacting your plastic surgeon or dermatologist. They can use a product called hyaluronidase to melt the residual Restylane, even after 5 months. This will be a good potential start to help your concern.
I just had Restylane injected into the moderate grooves at the corners of my mouth. There was also filler placed in both sides of my chin, in the "middle" on each side to soften my chin dimples (dynamic dimples). The dimples are more pronounced now on either side of the dot of Restylane on both sides of my chin. Meaning, I now have 4 dimples! It is worse on one side where I have more facial sagging anyway. I can see the Restylane surrounding the dimples. Should I ask for more filler, AND botox?
Dimples of the chin are typically caused by a muscle on the chin called the mentalis. The mentalis can create strain marks or dimples on the chin that are difficult if not impossible to correct without the use of a botulinum toxin like botox or dysport. It is really important to go to an expert for injections, typically a plastic surgeon or dermatologist or member of the physician coalition for injectable safety experienced with fillers will know these principles and easily address your issues. Filler alone is not enough!
