Will Latisse Change Eye Color?

If I have light blue eyes, will Latisse turn my irises brown?

A: Latisse and eye color.

Latisse, also called bimatoprost, is a drug that was originally used to treat glaucoma. In extremely rare instances patients had permanent darkening of their light colored eyes when applying the drug directly to the eyeball.

It is reasonable to assume there is an extremely small chance for this side effect, even though Latisse is applied directly to the eyelashes and not to the eyeball.

Darkening of the eyelid skin can occur, albeit infrequently, but resolves when Latisse is discontinued.

Can Latisse Permanently Darken the Skin of my Eyelids?

three months ago i read about the efectiveness of latisse, though mentioning it could darken eyelids irreversibly. is it true?

A: LATISSSE AND EYELID DARKENING

Latisse has been reported to cause increased pigmentation of the eyelid skin. In most cases the pigment disappeared when Latisse use was stopped.

Latisse may also cause irreversible darkening of light colored eyes.

These side effects, as well as any pre-existing ocular conditions should be discussed with your physician  before using Latisse.

Skip Latisse for a Month?

Now that I have the lashes I want, can I taper down my Latisse use? I've been using latisse for 3 months. I love it!! My lashes look great! They are longer and thicker! Can I stop using it for awhile? Use every other day? Or skip a month now since I have the results I want? Or do I need to keep using daily? Thanks!

A: Latisse maintenance

It is recommended that Latisse be used once a day for four months. Following this, patients can taper the medication.  The maintenance dose varies from one individual to another. Most patients continue to have adequate lash growth with use of Latisse three times a week.
