No Fat Reduction Under the Chin After Losing 50 Lbs?

I have lost close to fifty pounds over the last year. I have noticed fat reduction in every place on my body except under my chin. I suspect that heredity has something to do with it, my father has a similar facial profile. I am a 39 yr old male. Opinions?

A: Liposuction of the neck

You seem to be an ideal candidate for liposuction of your neck. Of course, you need to be examined and have a full evaluation. Some areas of the body are just more resistant to weight loss and for you its just under your chin. Good luck.

Will Tummy Tuck Cost Less if a Surgeon Has Their Own Surgical Suite?

I am seeking Tummy Tuck in the Bay Area of California. I have consulted with 2 surgeons. The one I like will cost $18K (12K of which is his fee.) He has his own suite.

The other, would cost $9K and does not have his own suite. Both come well recommended. At this point, I'm at a loss. At $18K, I feel this procedure is costing me more than it should. The highest cost I've read on this site is $14K. But I really like the doctor and he comes well recommended.

A: Finding a plastic surgeon for a tummy tuck

Who is recommending your plastic surgeon? I would talk to a trusted friend and see her result. Those prices do seem high. Having your own suite can actually drive costs up. You might want to shop around a bit more. Don't look for the cheapest price, but rather, the surgeon with whom you feel most comfortable.

Am I Being Charged Too High for Tummy Tuck?

I am a 47-year-old woman who has lost 80 lbs. I recently consulted with two surgeons for a Tummy Tuck. The first surgeon, who I did not connect with, would charge me $9000 all inclusive. The second, charges $12,000 for his services + $7000 on top for surgical suite fee, anesthesia, etc. He would do a Fleur de Lys, which I think is best. The surgical suite is his. He is well-respected and was recommended by my dermatologist. But, his fees seem well above norm; even very high for a Tummy Tuck. Is there some well-respected statistical reference for procedure costs? Is his price as high as I think it is? Can I negotiate?

A: Prices for a tummy tuck

Get a few more opinions. I do not recommend finding the cheapest plastic surgeon, nor is the most expensive necessarily the best. The price you quote is quite high. You should be comfortable with your surgeon and look at photos of his/her own patients.  Good Luck.
