What Are My Options To Correct An Uneven Top Lip Due To Scarring?

Can This Be Corrected I Have Small Round Bump of Scar Tissue and a Uneven Top Lip Line Due to 2 Scars

A: Juvederm and Restylane can be used to help uneven lips

even when it is due to scarring.  I have several patients that I treat who have scarring on the lip.  The bump may need to be surgically removed, if it is also scar tissue.  Best to you,

A: There are several treatments for atrophic scars

It really depends on the actual type of scar.  Most acne scars are classified as ice pick, box car, or rolling scars.  Some scars can also be simply lighter in color (hypopigmented) or darker (hyperpigmented).  For rolling scars (ones that look normal if you stretch the skin) you can have a filler substance such as Restylane injected to fill them out.  That is a quick treatment with very little downtime.  A surgical treatment, such as Subcision, can also be used to release the tethering bands of collagen that are pulling the skin down.  Check with a dermatologic surgeon to see which treatment is right for your type of scar.  Best to you.

Can An Indented Facial Scar Be Excised and Closed Up Using the Fusiform Shape?

I have a deep indented scar on my face about 5mm X 5mm.

A: Scar Revision

If a patient has a 5mm X 5mm indented scar, then this is generally can be  made better by excision in a elliptical ( or fusiform) pattern, closing the deeper tissues with a deep dissolving suture, then a superficial skin suture.  This may lengthen the scar to a degree, but usually makes the scar flatter and smoother over time.  I hope this helps
