What's the Medical Terminology for the Corrective Procedure I Need? (photo)

Over a year ago my left eyelid suddenly became swollen and developed an extra eyelid crease. I would like to know if anyone can tell me what I have and what steps I should take in getting a procedure done. Thanks in advance.

A: Asian eyelid ptosis and crease asymmetry Your eyelids look unequal because the left upper lid is lower due to a lifting muscle of the upper eyelid that is stretched and placed differently. This can occur after an episode of extreme swelling such as you described. The term is ptosis and treatments are available. Seek attention by an oculoplastic surgeon in your area for options and education.

I'm 29 and Might Need Botox, How Can I Tell if the 11's Are From Fat or Wrinkles?

I'm 29 years old and have deep vertical lines between eyebrows. I went to a dermatologist not long ago, and pointed it out. She said some overweight people accumulate fat above the eyebrows, and that maybe if I lost weight the lines would diminish. She doesn't offer fillers, so maybe that's why she said that. But my lines are deep "11s". They are embarrassing, and I'm still nursing my son once a day so Botox seems scary. Would Juvederm help? I hear it's safe as it's naturally in our skin.

A: Botox or Filler for Frown Lines

Your 11's, can be caused by contraction of the muscles between your eyebrows (glabellar muscles) or from shrinkage of tissues. Botox or Dysport can be used at first to see if the wrinkles improve. If the wrinkles do not improve, then a filler can be used. I would wait until you are done nursing before undergoing any treatment.

Can You Exercise After Botox or Will It Decrease the Results?

Can You Exercise After Botox  or Will It Decrease the Results

A: Botox and Exercise

There is no evidence that the effects of Botox or Dysport are reduced if a patient exercises on the same day of treatment.

I never restrict patient activities after their injections, since no effect on their results will occur.
