Hello, I was a slim fashion model of 5'9, 130 pounds who had liposuccion done for the purpose of Adistem Stem Cell therapy for Breast Enhancement. Liposuccion was done to me Jan 2011 on my abdomen, butt, legs, thighs. I received the manual liposuccion with microcannulas. 1 year later, I am experiencing massive amount of cellulite that i didn't have before and swelling over the pubic area (similiar to the post surgery). I lost skin elasticity.I am heavily distressed.I am open to all suggestions.
Remember that 'stem cell' therapy is unproven and currently a marketing tool. Add in that fat grafting to the breast is controvertial, and the results are modest. Now consider that you sacrificed excellent body shape and contour as a slim fashion model in order to obtain fat for questionable benefits and are left with cellulite swelling and dents. There is a lesson here, and a hard one at that.
Best of luck, peterejohnsonmd.com
I am very black w/ red marks and swollen in those areas (lower hips) It is very painful in those areas. Should I be concerned? What can I do to help with the swelling since the garment isn't compressing it well enough in those areas? I had full abdominoplasty w/ muscle repair & lipsuction of the hips/flanks.
Dear Scandia Blu,
just get Spanx or a similar brand at any Walmart ot Target store. buy at least 2, so you can rotate them.
shower every day, massage and hydrate the skin after with your favorite moisturizer.
you can also purchase at your local pharmacy a battery-operated massager and start massaging yourself several times a day. ( less than 10 $ )
or purchase a hand-held ultra sound device ( Amazon ) and massage yourself too.
For all my patients after lipo, I recommend they drink 2 liters of ( diluted ) Gatorade per day, and walk 2 miles a day for the next 2 weeks post -op. combined with a high protein diet.
in my experience: " 2 weeks bruising, 6 weeks swelling "
good luck

the surgeon i am considering suggested that iam able to preform my procedures within a week of each other
Dear Jus2juicy,
If you were my patient, I would suggest you to only undergo Liposuction of your entire abdomen, flanks and back ( your mid-section ) first.
It will take a full 6 weeks to just recover from the swelling, wearing Spanx and exercising post-operatively. the plus: you will hardly need to take time off from work, and minimal scars. and after the 1 st day, the pain is very tolerable.
most patients will continue to lose weight and settle nicely up to 6 months post-op, assuming you keep up with a high protein diet and exercise.
at 6 months then, you could consider a full tummy tuck: the procedure can be done faster, since not combined with liposuction. this will minimize the ever present risk of blood clots, infection, bleeding etc..
a full tummy tuck is a more invasive procedure, and will require you take at least 10 days - 2 weeks off from work. and 6 weeks with no exercise. we all have a busy life and I found my patients prefer this mode of proceeding since it is way easier to get organized, financially, personally and socially. and with the weight loss from the liposuction, it is a nicer result with the tummy tuck.
your surgeon should be a Board certified Plastic Surgeon.
Good Luck
