Should I Consider Lip Lift or Lip Augmentation?

I dislike the ratio between top and bottom lip. The top lip is small and seems like I have a longish upper lip (nose to mouth distance slightly beyond ideal) I have researched both the lip lift (under nose style) and augmentation. I want my philtrum to be shorter and more red lip to show with a defined cupids bow. At repose I have ideal tooth show and when I smile big there is 2mm + of gum show. As a dental hygienist, I could do gingival resection/veneers if things got too gummy. Opinions?

A: Injectable fillers are the first step in lip enhancement.

You should try enhancing your lips with an injectable filler.  If you absolutely love the results, you can get fat injected into the areas which is safe and uses your own fat.

Can You Reduce the Thickness of the White Lip?

Hi, I read that ideally your upper lip should sit 4mm behind the line that goes from your chin to the tip of your nose. My upper lip touches that line. I consulted a OMF surgeon. He said my teeth and jaw weren't the problem but my lips are too thick -that is not the red lip but the nasolabial part (between the nose and the red lip). Is there a way to reduce that part or to bring it closer onto the teeth? I'm thinking of something like an inverted lip lift. thanks!

A: Thinning the white portion of the upper lip

This is an interesting and most meticulous evaluation of your condition. I am not sure of the options for thinning or debulking the upper lip without possible loss or compromise of function.

I Hate the Lip Lift the Doctor Gave Me. What Can I Do to Redo the Big Scar He Left Me?

I had a gulf wing lip lift about 4 weeks ago and it looks terrible. There is a big scar on my top lip and lots of scar tissue. I'm very upset because I told the doctor not to do that kind of lift because of all the bad things I've heard about it. Now I need something done because it looks terrible. I'm very depressed about it.

The lip lift results are still early and it is likely it will soften and become less prominent. I have revised these scars using skin needling, fillers and tattoo for pigment restoration.
