What other benefits would I see after having a chin laser lipo?
So far, there is very little evidence that laser liposuction (or any other liposuction for that matter) tightens the skin. Only one study on the abdomen showed a small change in the skin that could be interpreted as tightening. However, the marketing of the laser liposuction companies is geared to suggest that the skin is tightened. The same claims were made when ultrasound liposuction became available in the late 1990's but over time, no one could show that ultrasound liposuction was any better than regular liposuction in tightening the skin. My suggestion is save your money on laser liposuction until we have independent evidence that it results in clinically significant improvement and is superior to regular liposuction.
I had my smartlipo on chin only, 8 days ago. It is now swollen, hard, painful to the touch, and tight. It feels slightly better when I wear compression, but I'm not sure I should wear it this far out after surgery. I started taking Arnica Montana 2 days prior to surgery & continue to take it, with Vitamin C, lots of water, & light exercise, but the area is larger than before the surgery. Is this normal? What else do I need to do, and be looking out for in case I am having a bad reaction?
Some swelling and discomfort is common after liposuction but what you are describing seems more serious. Notify you doctor right away to make sure you don't have an infection.
I'm 22 years old but have always had a sort of round chin, even in pictures from when I was a young child, and despite being otherwise very lean and tall. It produces the look of a slight double chin from the front, and gives me an odd, rounded jawline from the side. If I sort of pull back there toward my jaw and hold it with my fingers, I have a much nicer, straight profile so I don't think it's something wrong with my bone structure. What procedure might be an option for something like this?
I have found liposuction of the neck useful for the removal of moderate fat in the sub-mental area. The fact that your neck skin appears to have good elasticity would be a positive for you.
