What exactly is a body lift? Am I a good candidate if I just lost 100 lbs and am dealing with lose and hanging skin? I am trying to find out if it is a lot different than a tummy tuck.
A body lift is essentially a removal of excess skin circumfrentially around the trunk. This incorporates an abdominoplasty ( tummy tuck), flank ( side) excsions with lifting of the lateral thighs, and a buttock lift. When someone has lost a lot of weight, the excess skin often becomes a big issue for them, and a full body lift can help to address those issues. However, it is a pretty extensive surgery with a long recovery time, so it requires good planning for the post-operative care. The only way to know if you are a candidate would be to see a board certified plastic surgeon in your area and see what they recommend. I hope this helps.
I am 50 years old, lost 80 pounds over several years through low-carb, and have been 15 pounds shy of "normal" BMI for over 6 months now (155 pounds at 5'3"). Looking at my pics, though, I sure don't feel like I'm anywhere close to normal and wonder if this is "close enough" for good results. I'm looking for less abdomen, less saggy inner thighs, and "shorter" breasts (not bigger, no implants). Is my wish list of procedures appropriate for me at this time or is more weight loss necessary?
The right weight for tummy tuck is the best weight that you can be. If you wish to lose 15 pounds more this is the time to do it. Of course you are a good candidate for tummy tuck now, but the result might be better if you see it through and lose the rest of the weight.

I lost 70 pounds thru bariatric surgery and am scheduled for lbl in 2 weeks am i too old or should i just live with excess tissue.
As they say, age is just a number, and 56 is not too old at all for your procedure. The key is a good evaluation before with medical clearance for the procedure you have selected. Provided you are in optimal shape, coordination with your family physician can help make your procedure a safe one.
Best of luck, peterejohnsonmd.com
