I had a lower transconjuctival blepharoplasty with fat repositioning along with a primary rhinoplasty three days ago. I expected the swelling that has come since, but was NOT expecting the location of the swelling - in the lowest part of my face. It's like my face is filled with fluid that settled downwards giving me insane low-set chipmunk cheeks. Is there a problem here? My doc seemed unconcerned but of course I'm freaking out. Is this swelling from the bleph or the rhino?
It is not unusual to have swelling in the lower part of the face with a Blepharoplasty. Keep your head elevated and this should resolve quite quickly. Don't freak out.

I am post bilateral blepharoplasty by 12 days. DR removed external stitches at 8 days. Now I notice on both eyelids stitches that are on the outside of both eyelids. I can see the knots as well. I see at least 2 knots on each eyelid maybe more. He said that there were internal stitches but I did not think I should be able to see them. I find it hard to believe that he missed all of these. Please advise.
There are frequently sutures placed internally in eyelid surgery but they are not typically visible under the skin. Sometimes some chromic gut sutures are placed in fat to rearrange the fat pads. They should dissolve in the next ten days. Confer with your board certified plastic surgeon about this.

I had lower eyebag blepharoplasty 7 weeks ago. Most bruises disappeared 2 weeks after surgery, but some residual bruises remained. My doctor said these too would go away in times. About 1 week ago, the skin area where these residual bruises are became dry, wrinkled and very creased (but other skin areas where the eyebags were but not bruising are ok). The doctor said that's dead skin to come off. But 7 days down the track it's still much the same. I am worried, and I want a 2nd opinion.
It would be a mistake to undertake any surgical intervention so soon after this surgery. Gently massage the areas and use a medical grade moisturizer. Be patient for several months and then reevaluate.
