I'm in my 30's. I would like the nasolabial folds and mouth corners lifted as they are drooping.. (FYI, I've lost 20 pounds in 2 months). Do you think fillers can fix my problem? or I need a midface lift?
Injectable fillers are great for softening the harshness of these lines, but as other colleagues have mentioned, they are limited to the extent of improvements. Beware of the overfilled effects that can leave you with heavier cheeks and bigger jowls. Your photo is helpful and you are more a candidate for a surgical lift as I believe you will be disappointed with fillers alone.
Hello. I am reposting my question with more pictures. I am 24 and my face looks old and sagged, applecheeks are almost lost, nasolabial folds quite prominent, lower eyelids unnaturally droopy, there seems to be too much skin yet hollows in the middle of my cheeks (also under my eyes when I laugh). I want to have a younger looking face and tighter cheeks, but do not know what to do. Thanks for your time.
Thanks for the photos. I am impressed with the variety of recommendations you have received from my colleagues so far, and many are excellent points to consider. Because your skin has been thickened and weighted from the apparent acne inflammation, I don't know how much improvement you will see with volume replacement alone. This could work against you by adding more weight to your cheeks. I suggest a variation of the minimal access cranial suspension (MACS) lift that has been useful in my practice for adding structural support by encouraging collagen around the subdermal web of sutures anchored to the temporal fascia. The concept builds long term support against gravity and your future aging with strategic placement of strong and flexible suture material.
I want to have a facelift to address slight jowls and perhaps double chin but I hate scars. It seems that most facelifts will leave obvious scary scars around the ears. Is there a way to solve my problems with very small scars?
I do the MACS (minimal access cranial suspension) lift and have extensive experience in also the ContourThreads and Looplift techniques. As with all minimally invasive and other minimal surgical techniques, the results can be very impressive at first, but the results may not last as long as the surgical standards. Because of this, I have been combining the best of both techniques to achieve nice results with lower risks and long lasting effects of 7 to 10 years.
I can perform only the MACS if requested, but we should have a good face to face (pun intended), heart to heart discussion if this is what you really want and if you will be satisfied with this alone. I understand the need for quick recovery, but anything worth doing in my book is worth doing well and does require the proper investment in time to recover. Most of my combined surgical/MACS patients can be up and functioning in a few weeks as the bruises and swelling clear. Two weeks is pushing your luck for any surgery of this type, but the MACS can work this way...I just don't want to have any disappointments if the sutures start to cut through and tissues start to fall again.
