I had Tumescent lipo about a mont ago in chin, arms, abs and inner thighs. I think the doc should have suggested this to be done on two separate days. The problem is asymmetry in all areas. The chin does not look different at all. Al the areas treated feels very lumpy. My mid and upper abs looks very bulgy and asymmetrical. The lower abs is flatter than upper. It will go away? He only took out 2,000 ccs. He told me I need a tummy tuck because the navel is holding the skin. What do you say?
You will have swelling in the treated areas for at least three months. Therefore it is difficult to evaluate your result at this time. I would suggest you make sure that your surgeon is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. A well trained plastic surgeon should be able to evaluate you before surgery and tell you if a tummy tuck or liposuction will be needed, not after he has already performed the procedure.
My doctor suggested that we use a surgical drain to help with the fluid post-op. I have done some research on these and from my understanding they are not generally used for this procedure (which he told me- but he has started using them and said its hard to turn back as he finds them to be much better). It is absolutely my decision whether I want it or not. He said it would help minimize a "mess" and can help get a better/flatter result.
I have never used a drain after any liposuction procedure, nor do I see the need for one. There shouldn't be any "cavity" for a drain to even sit in after liposuction.
Is your doctor certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery? (NOT "cosmetic" surgery). If not, you might consider having a consultation with a surgeon who IS a real plastic surgeon and get his/her opinion.
Hi there, i have not had any babies yet, so i don't want to risk having breast reduction surgery, which may affect my ability to breast feed. I have heard that reductions can result alot more safely from liposuction, but won't this leave me with sagging breasts?
Any substantial lipo of large breasts will leave them with a deflated appearance. After all, it is volume that is being removed.
